Introducing... The Daily Mile

At #TeamHilton we want to promote sport, exercise and healthy lifestyles to all of our children. From September 2017 we are introducing the 'Daily Mile'.

The 'Daily Mile' is a national initiative that aims to "improve the physical, emotional and social health and wellbeing of our children".

Every day of the academic year children will walk, jog or run for a small amount of time every day building up their own personal stamina and fitness. The aim is for everybody (children and staff!) to build up to completing one mile every day.

Being active has been proved to have links to academic success as well as emotional well-being and as an academy this is something we are really prioritising in the 2017/2018 academic year.

As we're all more than aware, the North East climate is hardly flattering at the best of times, so to ensure we have all eventualities covered we've invested in a brand new water-proof and wind-proof jacket for all of our children and staff to ensure the 'Daily Mile' can take place every single day (you can see one of the jackets in the image on this page).
