Here you will find details of the Academy's admission arrangements, including our selection and oversubscription criteria, published admission number and the school's process for applications through the local authority. All procedures relating to admissions and appeals are dealt with by the local authority - Newcastle City Council.
There is a right for people to object about the policy to the Schools Adjudicator (OSA). See the Schools Adjudicator website for more information on how to do this. Objections for the admissions arrangements for 2020/2021 must be made by 15 May 2019.
Nursery pupils are admitted in September after their third Birthday. We have full time nursery provision at Hilton Primary Academy.
Pupils are normally admitted to the school in the September of the school year in which their fifth birthday falls.
Mid year admissions are subject to available places and the usual admissions policy approved by the Governing Body. Parents requesting a place at the school will be required to have a short meeting with the Principal or Vice Principal before their child starts, to gather information. This will ensure that your child settles with us as quickly as possible.
The school benefits from spacious, single-storey accommodation on a large site. All of our classrooms have been refurbished in 2016 and 2017. We have recently invested heavily in our ICT infrastructure and have iPads across the academy that are used to enhance the learning experiences of our children. We have excellent sporting facilities, two large playgrounds, two large fields and an indoor sports hall. We also have a woodland area within school and our very own 'Invention Shed'.
From 2017/2018 we are proud to unveil our new 'Pathways Zone' provision which is specially designed for children with ASD.
