Members of the East Java Police Drug Department raided a house in Kertajaya Indah Timur, Sukolilo, Surabaya, which is suspected to be a home industry that produces ecstasy pills and coplo pills. Millions of drugs were seized.
In this case, East Java Regional Police arrested two suspects, namely ADH residents of Puri KaliTengah, Sidoarjo; and MY a resident of Pacar Kembang, Tambaksari, Surabaya. Both are recidivists of similar cases, they will only be released in 2023 and 2022.
Head of Public Relations of East Java Regional Police Kombes Dirmanto said, the uncovering of the drug home industry in Surabaya began with the arrest of ADH, Wednesday (15/5). ADH was arrested for storing 9 kilograms of methamphetamine and 2,894 ecstasy pellets stored inside his rented house.
“From this ADH suspect, 9 kilograms of methamphetamine and 3 thousand ecstasy pills were seized,” said Dirmanto in Surabaya (20/5).
After arresting ADH, the police developed it and arrested MY. From MY’s hands, investigators found 5.7 million LL pills aka coplo pills and 1 million carnophen pills ready for circulation.
Based on the results of deepening, millions of coplo pills were obtained by MY by producing them in a rented house on Jalan Kertajaya Indah Timur, Surabaya.
“Then from the results of MY’s arrest, only then revealed the existence of the home industry that colleagues are now visiting,” he said.
In the house, said Dirmanto, ADH and MY have been producing pills with the LL type logo and carnophen pills since six months ago or around November 2023.
“For printed pills, this is home industry and has been running for approximately six months,” he said.
Meanwhile, Jagim Regional Police Director Robert da Costa said ADH and MY were part of a drug trafficking syndicate controlled by prisons in Jakarta.
“So related to this syndicate prison, the controller [is in] the prison in Jakarta. We are continuing to explore, we are developing this meth network which has been indicated to come from Jakarta, “he said.
He said the pills produced by the two suspects would be distributed to the lower middle class
“For this disclosure, the East Java Regional Police is estimated to have saved approximately 50,000 lives of the people of East Java from drug abuse and trafficking. The evidence secured by the East Java Police Drug Department is worth around Rp23.1 billion,” he said.
Now in addition to securing two suspects, the police have also named two DPOs in this case, they are KSM and WD.
As a result of their actions, the suspects were charged with Article 112 and Article 114 of Law Number 35 concerning Narcotics with the threat of life imprisonment.
