Jakarta, Hilton News

Minister of Defense and 2024 presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto, shared Indonesia’s vision to become a country that is not only independent in food but is able to become an exporter at the 2024 Mandiri Investment Forum (MIF) event, entitled ‘Thriving through Transition‘ at Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (5/3).

“I think we (Indonesia) will export food within three to four years,” he said in a written statement, Friday (8/3).

He added that Indonesia must also learn from other countries, such as China which is able to alleviate poverty, and India which is one of the largest food exporting countries in the world.

In addition, Prabowo also said that Indonesia continues to strive to realize a green economy. The potential to produce diesel from palm oil and gasoline from ethanol is part of this initiative.

Closing his presentation, he believed that Indonesia’s economic growth could increase, up to 8 percent within the next four to five years.

“In conclusion, I am confident that we can boost (economic) growth. My estimation, in the next four to five years, we can achieve 8 percent growth rate, maybe more,” concluded Prabowo.
