KPK Dewas Postpones Reading of Nurul Ghufron’s Ethics Verdict

Jakarta, Hilton News

The Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Dewas KPK) decided to postpone the hearing on the reading of the decision on the code of ethics and code of conduct of KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron which was supposed to be held on Tuesday (21/5).

Chairman of the KPK Dewas Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean explained that the delay followed up on the order of the panel of judges of the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) in an interlocutory decision read yesterday, Monday (20/5).

“We have received according to what has been contained in the e-court information system, so we receive it directly from the e-court. Therefore, we consider it official to come from the Registrar of the TUN Court,” Tumpak said at his office, Jakarta, Tuesday.

“Because we have received a determination ordering us to postpone, then in accordance with the agreement of the assembly, we postpone this trial for a time until the decision of the PTUN which has the force of law remains,” he continued.

Tumpak denied that his party did not anticipate Ghufron’s move to delay the ethics verdict from being read, including by several times not appearing at the hearing.

He emphasized that his party was very anticipating this, it’s just that he admitted that he did not expect there to be a request or petitum for a delay in the implementation of the code of ethics hearing at the Jakarta State Administrative Court.

“Indeed, this delay is very fast. We’ve been very much anticipating. We ourselves have never received a TUN lawsuit filed by Nurul Ghufron,” said Tumpak.

Ghufron was tried for allegedly violating the code of ethics and code of conduct related to the abuse of influence behind the mutation of Indonesian Ministry employees with the initials ADM.
