Political observer Ujang Komaruddin assessed, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto deserves the title of four-star honorary general from Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Because, said Ujang, Prabowo has contributed a lot to the nation and state of Indonesia. For this reason, said Ujang, the title of four-star honorary general received by Prabowo is not political.
“If the four-star question for Prabowo is not political, it is indeed feasible and should be given to Mr. Prabowo,” Ujang said in his statement, Wednesday (28/2).
Previously in 2022, Prabowo had also received four major military honors, namely Bintang Yudha Dharma Utama, Bintang Kartika Eka Paksi Utama, Bintang Jalasena Utama, and Bintang Swa Buwana Paksa Utama.
Then, said Ujang, the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had also received the same honor in the era of Megawati Soekarnoputri’s presidency. Likewise with Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan during the leadership of the 4th President Abdurrahman Wahid.
“Just look at it first, Mr. SBY also got it, if it’s not wrong, Mr. Luhut has also gotten. There are many 3-star generals first, then 4-star generals can be honored by the government by the country, an honor for the person concerned, “said Ujang.
For this reason, Ujang emphasized that the promotion and honor were purely for Prabowo’s hard work towards the Indonesian nation and had nothing to do with politics.
“So, it is very clear that the issue of giving four stars to Prabowo is not political, so don’t be associated with politics. After all, Prabowo’s honor was given after the election because Prabowo contributed a lot to the nation and country,” he said.
As is known, Jokowi directly pinned the promotion of four-star general on Prabowo during the TNI & Polri Rapim held at Cilangkap TNI Headquarters, Wednesday (28/2).
