The General Elections Commission (KPU) announced the results of the recapitulation on Wednesday (20/3) in which Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming were officially elected as president and vice president in the 2024 general election.
Responding to the official announcement, Prabowo invited all Indonesian people to unite in order to bring the country to prosperity and justice. He stressed the importance of re-strengthening the spirit of nationhood amid differences.
“We invite all Indonesian people together to look forward, unite, join hands. We must get along, work together to bring Indonesia towards prosperity and justice,” Prabowo said on Wednesday (20/3).
“We must re-strengthen the spirit of nationhood, if there are differences between us it is good. We respect differences. The election is over, we must respect all the people’s choices,” he continued.
Prabowo confirmed that he and Gibran will be presidents and vice presidents who work fully for the Indonesian people. He promised to prove this mandate by becoming a leader who truly serves the people.
“We have been elected by the people, the people’s mandate is in our hands, Prabowo-Gibran will be the government’s vice president for all Indonesians. For those who didn’t vote for us, give it a chance. We will prove to be presidents and deputies who will work as hard as possible for all Indonesian people,” he said.
At the press conference, Prabowo expressed his gratitude to various parties involved both directly and indirectly in the 2024 election, especially people who have exercised their right to vote.
“We would like to express our highest gratitude and appreciation for those who have exercised their right to vote in the 2024 election,” Prabowo said in Kertanegara IV, Jakarta.
In addition to the public, Prabowo also thanked the KPU and the Election Organizing Honor Board (DKPP) for the smooth implementation of the 2024 elections, as well as the TNI and Polri for keeping the democratic party running orderly and safe.
“On February 14, 2024, we will feel the smooth implementation of the election. On behalf of Prabowo-Gibran and the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, thank you KPU, DKPP and great appreciation to the TNI-Polri for making the 2024 elections very orderly, safe, and cool,” he said.
Finally, Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) that carried it, especially the general chairmen and all cadres of political parties who are members of it, as well as to the National Campaign Team (TKN) to the supporting volunteers.
“We express our gratitude and appreciation to all chairmen and all cadres from all parties in KIM, then TKN, volunteers, emak-emak who are present here,” Prabowo said.
