South Tangerang Police has inspected the Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Indonesia Flying Clubto investigate the incident of a plane crash that killed three people at Sunburst Field, BSD City, South Tangerang, last Sunday (19/5).
However, Tangsel Police Public Relations Officer AKP Agil did not disclose when the witnesses were questioned by investigators.
“We have carried out the collection of preliminary information and clarification materials for several parties such as witnesses at the crime scene, ATC and IFC (Indonesian Flying Club) General Affairs,” Agil said when confirmed, Wednesday (22/5).
Agil explained that during the examination, investigators studied the flight route of the plane before it crashed.
“To find out a temporary picture of the plane’s route and flight time from the first take off until an accident was found at the crime scene,” he said.
Meanwhile, Agil said, the investigation related to the cause of the crash was still carried out by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT).
“Regarding the investigation to investigate the causes of the plane crash, it is currently still in process and handled by the KNKT,” he said.
The TecnamP2006T aircraft with registration number PK-IFP belonging to Indonesia Flying Club crashed at Sunburst Field, BSD City, Serpong, South Tangerang, last Sunday (19/5).
The incident left three people on board dead. The three are pilot Capt Pulu Darmawan, co-pilot Capt Suanda, and technician Capt Farid Ahmad.
Basarnas DKI Jakarta said the training plane had lost contact before crashing in the BSD area. Head of Operation Section (Kasiop) Basarnas DKI Jakarta Agung Priambodo said the last communication was around 14.43 WIB.
Meanwhile, South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Ibnu Bagus Santoso said the pilot of the plane had sent an emergency signal before it crashed. However, after that the plane lost contact.
