Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (Dewas KPK) Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean opened his voice against the criminal report taken by KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron.
Tumpak admitted that he did not know about the contents of the report because he had not been summoned by the police.
“We ourselves don’t know yet, just heard from the news that Mr. Ghufron reported criminal defamation and abuse of authority,” Tumpak said at his office, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/5).
“We don’t yet know what it contains, what it reports. What is said to be defamatory? What does abuse of authority say? All I know is that Dewas carried out his duties imposed by law,” he said.
He admitted that he was surprised by Ghufron’s actions because he considered members of the KPK Dewas as criminals.
“We are astonished because we are carrying out (duties) from the law as appointed officials. Are we criminals?” said Tumpak.
Previously, Nurul Ghufron made a report to the National Police Criminal Investigation on May 6, 2024 regarding allegations of defamation and abuse of authority by the reported KPK Dewas Member.
Ghufron reported several KPK Dewas Members, not only Albertina Ho. The matter has risen to the level of investigation on May 14, 2024 and several people have been clarified.
