Jakarta, Hilton News —
The younger generation, especially millennials and Gen Z, have a tempestuous spirit and creativity that can support Indonesia’s development in the future.
Deputy Speaker of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Zita Anjani said their potential needs to be directed and fostered in order to contribute optimally to Indonesia’s development.
According to Zita, who is also the Chairman of the DPP National Mandate Party (PAN), there are two solutions to spur enthusiasm and encourage the creativity of the younger generation in Jakarta.
First, said Zita, every program that targets young people must have contemporary packaging. Then, the program must be weighty, but not serious just because it will make them bored and apathetic.
“If possible, we must also involve young people in the design of the program. Those who know best what is the most current,” Zita said in her statement, quoted Tuesday (20/2).
Regarding its implementation, Zita gave an example of the Birukan Langit Indonesia Festival (BLIF) and Birukan Langit Indonesia Stage (BLIS) which had been held by PAN as a series of Birukan Langit Indonesia activities in 2022.
“There are concerts, there are K-Pop artists, there are MSME festivals as well, now what I think can be applied to all government programs to increase participation and attract the attention of young people,” continued Zita.
Second, according to Zita, the government must start reusing the use of youth centers in DKI Jakarta for more youth-oriented activities.
“It’s called the youth arena, it’s definitely the target of young people. Now if we start revitalizing again, then we enliven it with competitions such as esports or cultural exhibitions, of course the talents and interests of our young people can be more positively channeled,” said Zita.
“Let them not participate in wild races or other negative things, and can also monitor their activities,” said Zita.
