Former Head of Purwakarta Customs Rahmady Effendi Hutahaean was quick to speak after being clarified by the KPK for seven hours related to the State Administrator’s Property Report (LHKPN), Monday (20/5).
Rahmady began the clarification process at 09.00 WIB, and he left the KPK Red and White House at 16.12 WIB.
“I have clarified, just ask inside,” Rahmady said at the KPK Office, Jakarta, Monday (20/5) evening.
The clarification action followed up on public reports and reports in a number of media.
Previously, KPK Prevention and Monitoring Deputy Pahala Nainggolan admitted that he was surprised that the amount of Rahmady’s assets reported to the KPK amounted to Rp6 billion. However, based on public reports to the KPK, the person concerned is said to have given a loan to someone of up to Rp7 billion.
“It doesn’t make sense, huh. So, we clarify,” Pahala said at his office, Jakarta, Thursday (16/5).
Pahala stated that Rahmady had shares in a company. Rahmady’s wife is said to be the chief commissioner of the company. This is one of the points that will be further explored by the KPK LHKPN team.
“This is once again the impact of because there are assets in the form of shares in other companies,” said Pahala.
“This is also in addition to the fact that a Minister of Finance Regulation has been issued which regulates all employees of the Ministry of Finance how to treat them if they have investments or shares in other companies,” he continued.
Earlier, the Finance Ministry sniffed out indications of abuse of authority and conflict of interest in Rahmady’s case.
Rahmady was accused of having fantastic wealth but was not conveyed in LHKPN. He has also been relieved of his position. Director of Communication and User Guidance for Customs Services Nirwala Dwi Heryanto said this was done after an internal inspection that found these two indications.
