Jakarta, Hilton News –
Investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continue to search for assets of former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) that allegedly came from the proceeds of corruption crimes.
This time, KPK investigators found a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Dakar car that was allegedly deliberately hidden in an empty land of Bumi Permata Hijau Housing, Rappocini Village, Rappocini District, Makassar, South Sulawesi.
“Information was obtained that the car was allegedly deliberately hidden by the closest person to the SYL suspect to avoid searching from the investigation team,” said KPK News Section Head Ali Fikri through a written statement on Wednesday (22/5) night.
Ali said the car was temporarily deposited at the Makassar Police Station. He said investigators immediately confirmed the origin of the car to witnesses.
Ali revealed that the KPK investigation team found problems because there were certain parties who allegedly deliberately covered up the confiscation tide sign on Jalan Jalur Dua, Bumi Harapan Village, West Bacukiki District, Pare-pare, South Sulawesi.
“The KPK reminds anyone not to take action to obstruct the investigation process of this case because there is a rule of law with strict sanctions for those who do it,” Ali said.
Previously, the KPK had already seized a white Mercedes-Benz (Mercy) Sprinter; a New Jimny car in Ivory color; a Honda X-ADV 750 CC motorcycle in dominant silver color; and a black Mercy Sprinter 315 CD car.
The forced effort is related to the investigation of SYL’s alleged Money Laundering (TPPU) case.
Meanwhile, two cases involving SYL, namely cases of alleged extortion and receipt of gratuities, are being examined at the Corruption Criminal Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN).
SYL together with two other defendants, namely Secretary General of the Ministry Kasdi Subagyono and Director of Agricultural Tools and Machinery, Directorate General of Infrastructure and Facilities of the Ministry Muhammad Hatta were charged with extortion up to Rp44,546,079,044 and receiving gratuities considered bribes in the amount of Rp40,647,444,494 during the 2020-2023 period.
