A total of four convicts in the Vina and Eki murder cases were temporarily transferred to the Bandung Class I Detention Center to undergo re-examination by the West Java Regional Police.
However, Karutan Class I Bandung, Suparman did not disclose the identities of the four transferred convicts.
“We are ready to work with the West Java Regional Police to ensure that this case can be resolved fairly and transparently,” Suparman said in a written statement on Wednesday (22/5).
Suparman guarantees that it will provide the necessary facilities so that the investigation by the police can run well without obstacles.
Suparman is also committed to supporting law enforcement by providing safe and standard places for detainees.
“We ensure that the rights of detainees are maintained in accordance with applicable regulations,” he said.
“We understand that this case has received widespread attention from the public. Therefore, we are committed to carrying out our duties professionally and in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” he added.
Previously, West Java Regional Police had arrested one of three suspects in the fugitive Vina Cirebon murder case named Pegi Setiawan.
Pegi was successfully arrested in the Bandung area on Tuesday (21/5). During the escape, Pegi is said to have undergone a profession as a builder.
“So Pegi who we DPO the last information we got was working as a construction worker in Bandung,” said Head of Public Relations of West Java Regional Police Kombes Pol Jules Abraham Abast, Wednesday (22/5).
Now, the police are still chasing two other perpetrators, namely Andi and Dani.
