Prabowo Affirms Commitment to Disability, From Law to Technology

Jakarta, Hilton News

Presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto affirmed his partiality towards the disabled community, which will be realized through efforts to push the Disability Law through the Gerindra Party to be passed immediately in the DPR.

Prabowo said he had been fighting for people with disabilities since he first entered politics. This was revealed in the last presidential debate in Senayan, Jakarta on Sunday (4/2).

“This issue is very important and I myself have been fighting in politics from the beginning. As Chairman of the Gerindra Party, we are the ones who sponsor the disability law, we are among those who push it for passage in the DPR,” Prabowo said.

According to Prabowo, disability groups must be more involved through expanding job opportunities.

“We have to be more on their side, and we are committed to recruiting them in the work they can do in government and also in the defense community,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo encouraged the use of technology to fulfill the rights of disabled groups, which is currently being pursued through cooperation with various parties.

For this reason, he encouraged the government to open up to the application of related technology.

“Now there is a new technology that can help them be able to live independently and be able to work almost close to normal people. So I think this disability problem needs to be partiality from the government,” Prabowo said.

The fifth debate was the last in a series of debates held by the KPU. In the debate, a number of themes were raised including social welfare, culture, education, information technology, health, employment, human resources, and inclusion.
